Missing man found safe in Calliope

UPDATE 12.50PM: The Burnett Heads man reported missing over the weekend has been found a short time ago, safe and well.

David Penny was found at Calliope, near Gladstone.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers are on scene offering assistance.

Police have thanked the media and members of the public for their assistance.

EARLIER: Police are appealing for assistance to help locate a man missing from Burnett Heads.

David Penny, aged 52, was last seen about noon on Saturday on Gladstone Monto Road at Futter Creek.

Mr Penny is described as being 182cm tall with a slim build, grey hair and a grey beard.

He was last seen wearing a maroon coloured t-shirt, blue jeans and white lace-up shoes.

Police, family and friends hold concerns for his welfare because he suffers from a medical condition.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Penny is asked to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or Policelink 131 444.
