Police bust 71-year-old man with 23kg of marijuana

A 71-year-old Barkers Vale man allegdly found in possession of 23 kilograms of cannabis has been charged by police.

Richmond Local Area Command Inspector Doug Connors said when police arrived at the mans home last Thursday they allegedly found a quantity of cannabis.

Insp Connors said officers searched the man's house and allegedly found 23 kilograms of dried cannabis, a quantity of cannabis resin and two small cannabis plants.

The man was issued a future court attendence notice to appear at Lismore Local Court in November.
