Two men to face court over M1 'road rage' bashing
POLICE have arrested and charged two men over the alleged serious assault of Brock Prime on the M1 at the weekend.
A 26-year-old Surfers Paradise man and 27-year-old Ormeau man were charged overnight with one count each of grievous bodily harm and will front Beenleigh Magistrates Court this morning.
Last night police said a number of people had come forward to help with inquiries into the shocking M1 attack after the alleged attackers were described as being aged in their 20s and driving in a white van. No other details were released.
"We have had witnesses come forward and give us small versions of what they may have seen," Det Insp Mark Thompson said.
"Considering the seriousness of the injuries inflicted it's critically important we get to the bottom of this and we've asked anyone who may have seen anything to come forward.
"It would appear these vehicles were involved in a near collision and they're previously unknown to each other.
"A near collision does not warrant the injuries that he's received."
He said urged motorists to keep calm on the roads.
"If they become involved in an incident where they are nearly involved in a collision or there's some sort of aggro between themselves and other drivers to maintain their cool and if necessary report it to police," Det Insp Thompson said.
"There are a lot of situations that can result in frayed tempers or frayed emotions on our roads and this one appears to be no different to some of the other ones we've seen in the past."
