Beating around the bush: Police hunt Bogangar masturbator

A MAN was allegedly hiding in a bush and masturbating in Bogangar this morning.

Police are now hunting for the alleged offender.

About 11.07am police received a call about a middle aged man masturbating in a bush on Bogangar Beach.

Acting Inspector Mark Gorton said a Kingscliff crew were searching for the man who was last seen hiding in bushes on Tweed Coast Rd.

"We had a report from a member of the public about a male person seen in the bush near the beach masturbating," he said.

"We're actively searching for the man."

It is understood the man was watching a woman sunbaking on the beach.

He is described as middle aged, shirtless, extremely tanned and wearing rugby shorts.

It is understood two more reports of a similar nature were made to police last week but Acting Insp Gorton said he and police intelligence had not heard anything.
