Police inquiries continue into Coffs Harbour custody death

POLICE inquiries are continuing after the death of a man in custody at Coffs Harbour last Friday.

A police media spokesperson said no further details can be released at this time.

Potential witnesses should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if they can assist with any information about the deceased's movements in Prince Street shortly before 5am on the morning he was taken into custody.

It's believed the man's identity has been established but man not become known until the coronial inquest.

Investigations are being conducted by Tweed-Byron LAC and overseen by the Professional Standards Command.
