Police investigate alleged stabbings

AS TWO men injured in separate stabbings in Sydney underwent surgery on Tuesday, their alleged attackers were being interviewed by police.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed in the chest at a Surry Hills home late Monday night and rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and expected to be charged with attempted murder.

In Sydney's west, a 40-year-old man was stabbed in the arm and knee while he stopped at traffic lights at Blacktown on Monday morning.

Police allege the attack stemmed from a stoush at a nearby medical centre earlier in the day.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning.

Investigations are continuing
