Police investigate fatal car crash at Chinderah

Police are investigating a fatal crash on the Far North Coast of New South Wales outside the small town of Chinderah. 

At about 8.45am yesterday, a Mazda sedan travelling south on the Pacific Motorway at Chinderah left the road and struck a tree.

The driver and sole occupant, a 22-year-old man, died at the scene.

Police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended the scene.

One lane of the Pacific Highway was closed whilst investigations took place.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner and any witnesses have been urged to contact police.
