Police investigate highway head on

Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that left three men injured on the Mid North Coast earlier today.   About 7.40am, there was a head-on crash involving an eastbound station wagon and utility and a westbound sedan on the Oxley Highway near Port Macquarie.    The three males drivers suffered serious injuries and were taken to Port Macquarie Hospital where they are each are undergoing treatment and in a stable condition.   Police inquiries revealed an oily substance on the road could have contributed to the crash. Further investigations suggest this may have come from a coach that had travelled through the area a short time before the crash.    Investigators are examining the coach and making inquiries into the possibility it may have been tampered with.   Port Macquarie Police are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.   Anyone who can assist should contact Port Macquarie detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
