Police investigate suspicious fire

 

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire on NSW’s far north coast at the weekend.

 

About midnight on Saturday 7 May, a house on Stoney Chute Road, Nimbin was destroyed by fire. The 36-year-old female resident awoke to glass breaking and discovered the house alight. She was able to escape with her two young children. None of the family was injured.

 

Rural Fire Service volunteers attended and extinguished the fire.

 

Police, NSW Ambulance and electrical supply personnel attended the site which was declared unsafe due to damage and has since been demolished.

 

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident or noticed anything suspicious about midnight to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
