Police officer 'glassed' by woman during ugly domestic

A WOMAN has been charged with 'glassing' a police officer during an ugly domestic in Coffs Harbour.

Police were called to a domestic dispute in Boultwood St on Sunday around 5pm.  

A 20-year-old woman alleged that her 29-year-old partner was damaging their unit with a baseball bat.

Police said two male constables attended and were confronted by the man who allegedly threatened them.

He was handcuffed and while being placed into the police truck, it is alleged the woman struck one of the constables in the back of the head with a large drinking glass, causing it to shatter.

The constable suffered a laceration above his left ear and later received seven stitches in hospital, police said.

The woman received a cut to her hand and she was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus where she received three stiches before being taken to the police station.

The woman was arrested and charged with recklessly wound police officer while executing duty.

She was refused bail to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court today.

The 29-year-old man was charged with malicious damage, drug detection and resist/hinder/assault officer.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday, October 15.
