Police find 1.5kg cannabis hidden in Holden Commodore

MORE than 1.5kg of cannabis has been seized after a car check at Woolgoolga.

About 3pm on Thursday, police officers stopped a Holden Commodore sedan on Solitary Islands Way, Woolgoolga.

A drug detection dog assisted in the vehicle search and allegedly located more than 1.5kg of cannabis.

Police estimate the potential street value at more than $38,000.

The 38-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station, where he was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a commercial quantity of cannabis.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on March 2.

Investigations continue.
