Power pole down, traffic delays at Ulmarra

UPDATE: 5.17pm

One lane of the Pacific Hwy is now open at Ulmarra after a car crashed into a power pole this afternoon.

Emergency services, traffic crews and utility crews remain on site with alternating (stop/slow) traffic conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays.

THE pacific Hwy is closed in both directions at Ulmarra due to a car crash.

Emergency services and traffic crews are at the site of the accident at King St. Utility companies are also on site working to repair a damaged power pole and power lines.

Light vehicles travelling north are being diverted along River St, and those heading south through Coldstream St.

Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time.

No diversion is available for heavy vehicles so drivers are advised to delay their trip or consider using Summerland Hwy and the Bruxner Hwy instead.

A POWER pole has come down at Ulmarra after being hit by a car causing power outages and traffic delays on the Pacific Hwy.

Police are diverting traffic off the highway and through the township as emergency crews work to contain the situation.

It has been reported that power is out at Ulmarra and Clarenza.
