Power star banned after crashing into cars

AFL: Jarman Impey will miss Port Adelaide's first-round clash with the Sydney Swans after being handed a one-match ban and fined $5000 by the club following his crash-and-run incident on the weekend.

Impey was charged by police after crashing into four cars - one belonging to teammate Angus Monfries - after a pool party and drinking session at Monfries' house on Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old forward Aidyn Johnson was also suspended for the season opener after it was revealed he was a passenger in the car.

Following the incident, Impey, 21, left his car at the scene before attempting to walk home.

The club could not contact him for five hours before Impey handed himself into police on Sunday.

He was charged with driving without due care, failing to exchange particulars and failing to report the incident.

Impey, who apologised in a video statement released by the club on Sunday, and Johnson will direct their $5000 fines to the Brain Injury Network of South Australia in support of road safety programs helping people who have suffered brain injuries.

They will also be required to participate in the network's youth reconnect programs.
