Power supplyback up and running

CLARENCE Valley residents in Ulmarra, South Grafton, Shannon Creek, Nymboida and surrounding areas experienced a short power supply interruption earlier today when network protection equipment activated to switch off supply in response to a network fault.

Essential Energy crews responded immediately and were able to restore power to affected customers in under an hour.

A media release from Essential Energy stated initial investigations indicated the safety equipment operated as it is designed to after detecting a fault on the South Grafton powerline during routine maintenance work.

The fault is believed to have been caused by yesterday's storm.

Essential Energy apologises for the inconvenience caused and encourages customers to call 13 20 80 if they have any concerns.
