Online footage shows truck driver preparing for crash impact

FRIGHTENING footage of a crash involving a milk truck and a caravan on the Pacific Hwy near Iluka showed up online last week.

The web video featured footage from the cab of the truck in the horror highway crash with a car and caravan just over a week ago.

The camera was looking out through the truck's windscreen.

About 30 seconds long, the footage initially depicts a normal journey along the Pacific Hwy.

But about 20 seconds into the video, the journey goes horribly wrong.

It showed the terrifying moment when a four-wheel drive towing a caravan slid sideways off Iluka Rd onto the Pacific Hwy and into the path of the oncoming truck.

Viewers saw the truck hit the caravan, run off the road and roll on its side.

"I've been hit," the driver said faintly.

Nearby resident Jess Wylie Yupp told local media after the crash the explosion when the vehicles burst into flames was so strong it knocked her out of the shower.

Incredibly, no one was seriously injured.

The video has since been taken offline but The Daily Examiner could not ascertain why.

Inspector Joanne Reid from the Coffs/Clarence local area command said investigations into the crash were continuing.
