Rock blast near Pacific Highway at Dirty Creek this Friday

ROADS and Maritime Services says a controlled rock blast will be carried out near the Pacific Highway at Dirty Creek this week as part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina highway upgrade.

The controlled blast will be carried out on Friday, February 19, at 1pm, weather permitting, near the Pacific Highway between Dundoo Reach and the bottom of the Dirty Creek Range.

For the safety of workers and motorists all traffic on the Pacific Highway will be temporarily stopped during the controlled blast.

Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes and are advised to plan travel around this time or allow extra time for their journeys.

Electronic message boards on the side of the highway will also be used to advise motorists of controlled blast times and traffic stoppages.
