Bowls program gives students insight

ABOUT 40 students from Grafton Public School recently completed a month-long bowls coaching program hosted by the Grafton District Services Club.

Event co-ordinator Brian Buckley said he was determined to make the sport more accessible and appealing for the younger generation.

"The idea was to introduce the sport in the hope they get into juniors when they reach high school," Buckley said.

"When I go away for bowls I see juniors from other regions go really well but it is yet to take off in Grafton and I don't know why."
