Public Cotton On to new megastore
IN a matter of days, the team from Cotton On has transformed the site where Mackellys Department Store once stood into a modern shop front packed to the rafters with the fashion chain's latest styles and products.
All the Cotton On brands will be housed under one roof, including Cotton On for men's and women's clothing, Cotton On Kids for the little ones, Cotton On Body for sleepwear, active wear and intimates, Rubi Shoes for footwear and Typo for stationary.
Regional manager Laura Bennington says she has been humbled by the public's interest.
"If we could have been open a month ago we would have been," she said.
"So many people have been walking past and have come to look in the windows.
"But we are just as excited as Grafton, I think.
"This is our 501st Australian store and because it is a megastore there will be lines available here that aren't in any store in Australia yet and different lines will be trialled here.
"All of the fittings and fixtures are our latest design, too, so it's all fresh and new."
The aim of Cotton On as a brand is to bring the latest looks to everyone by making them affordable and the stores approachable.
"I really think you can shop for anyone in Cotton On. We have everything short of the groceries," Laura said.
The manager of the new store has been brought down from Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast and more than 20 local jobs have been created by the fashion giant moving into Clarence Valley.
The Grafton Cotton On megastore opens this morning on Prince St.
