Punters back Manly to win final
A SINGLE bet of $40,000 highlights an avalanche of money for Manly to beat the Warriors in this afternoon's NRL grand final at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
After trading at $1.58 early in the week, Manly has firmed significantly to a current price of $1.50. Conversely, the Warriors have blown from $2.76 to $2.98.
One Betfair punter has today bet $40,000 at $1.50 on Des Hasler's side. There have also been bets of $12,000, $10,000 and $8500 on Manly in the last 12 hours.
By contrast, the biggest single back bet on the Warriors this week is just $3500 at $2.76.
Betfair's Mathew Thompson said: "The Betfair punters rarely get it wrong and they only want Manly for today's grand final. There have been some huge bets on the Sea Eagles, including one single wager of $40,000 today.
"It's also expected to be a low scoring affair with the total match points line drawn at 36.5. Under the line is currently $1.94 while over the line is $2.04."
Manly's boom halves, Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans head betting on the Clive Churchill medal.
Foran is the $7 favourite and Cherry-Evans at $8. Indeed Manly players dominate the man of the match market with Glenn Stewart at $9.80 and Jamie Lyon $11.
James Maloney is the only Warriors player in the top five at $12.50.
