Welcome to cricket 2010/11.

Full of slippery grass, damp pitches and, most importantly, limited cricket. Officials were still waiting yesterday to give week two of the season the green light after wet weather continued to plague the Valley.

Lower Clarence has already abandoned its weekend fixtures, while the juniors will have to cool their heels for another week.

Yes, it looks like another one of those seasons.

One where the rain falls as steadily as John Blanch’s victims.
