200 in Great Endeavour Rally
ON your mark, get set, go.
The Great Endeavour Rally revs into action on July 13, with more than 200 entrants to contest the 3500km journey from Burleigh Heads to Bargara.
And this year, the Clarence Valley will be a stop along the way.
Taking what is described as the “scenic route” to Bargara, entrants will follow a convoy of 100 vehicles along some of the most remote and inaccessible roads Queensland and New South Wales have to offer.
Their efforts will help raise funds for the Endeavour Foundation, which provides services and support to more than 3000 people living with a disability in the aforementioned states.
“We are hoping to raise $400,000 from the rally,” said Great Endeavour media and communications co-ordinator Vanessa Boman.
“Last year we achieved a brilliant result of $480,000.”
The other purpose of the rally is to uncover some of Australia’s hidden gems and “take people places they’ve never been”.
“We have a totally different route every year,” Ms Boman said.
“All the entrants are excited about discovering new and beautiful parts of Australia and this year the rally will be spending the night at Brooms Head, Red Rock and Valla Beach from July 14 to 16.”
The Grand Endeavour Rally is also expected to bring substantial benefit to the these townships in the form of an economic boost of upwards of $25,000 during the rally’s one night stay in the form of food, drinks and accommodation.
The rally will pass through Grafton on July 14 and end on July 22.
