Editorial - Tuesday, May 20: Readers spot a problem

I AM lucky enough to live in walking distance of most places in Grafton and only drive on weekends. But when I do have to jump in the car, there are a few hot spots I'll try to avoid at all costs.

For a start I won't reverse angle park - I am not ashamed to admit my few attempts haven't been the best. I have never lived anywhere with reverse angle parking before. But I am not the only one who struggles. Daily I wander past cars whose drivers missed the memo about the 45 degree angle. I am not even sure why the lines are there most of the time.

We have had the reverse parking debate more than once in The Daily Examiner.

But there's still plenty of nose in and parallel parking spots that seem to be just as tricky - not so much because of the manoeuvre required but because of the surrounding infrastructure (or perhaps lack of).

We asked our readers which spots were the worst and there were definitely a few recurring areas that really got people going.

Check out Georja Ryan's story about them on pages 4 and 5 and why they are a challenge to do anything about.
