Recumbent tricyclists go flat out

WHILE most cyclists give a wave when they pass by each other, recumbent tricyclists stop for a chat.

Since December American recumbent cyclist Sylvia Halpern had been riding solo from Adelaide, up the East Coast of Australia, but now she's picked up a team mate.

Sylvia was pedalling towards Grafton last week when she ran into another woman on a recumbent mission, Jane Clarke from Brisbane.

The pair stopped for a chat and next thing you know Sylvia was on her way to Yamba to spend Easter with Jane's parents.

“Now it looks like I might have some company all the way to Brisbane,” Sylvia said.

Since July 2007 Sylvia has also ridden from Canada to Guatemala. Blog: www.crazyguyonbike.com/doc/myrtle.
