Redmen target top three

REDMEN Steakhouse will look to cement its spot in the top three when it meets SSB Topshelf tomorrow.

Steakhouse's Stephanie Elliott said her side's performance was getting better with every week, with last week's 42-30 win over fellow Redmen side Aussie Hotel the latest in a string of solid shows.

"We're currently sitting third but numbers are

getting better each week," Elliott said.

"Last week wasn't too bad. You play with the same people every week so you know who your teammates are.

"It's those 50-50 balls where you see them out the corner of the eye that were a problem. There were a lot of errors and balls going out, but otherwise it was all right."

Grafton Netball Association will hold its monthly general meeting this Monday at 7pm. All delegates must attend to discuss a number of important issues.

All umpires, new and old, who attended the umpiring clinic held on Saturday, say it went well and participants were very interactive and built up on their skills.

The workshop not only brushed up on some old rules but also provided some new learning about more current rule changes and umpiring techniques.

If you are still interested in taking part in the clinic please turn up next Saturday at 11.30am or contact Alex.

For those players who have yet to pay their compulsory fees, club delegates will be making the rounds this coming Saturday.

Any players who are found to have not paid will be asked not to take the court until the issue is resolved.

A barbecue fundraiser for the 13-years representative team will take place this Saturday. More barbecues will be held throughout the year for our other teams to help fund our trip down to Sydney this year, with raffles and other events happening on these days as well. We greatly appreciate all the support.

Our next representative carnival will be in Maclean on May 25. Transport to the Lower Clarence Carnival is by private transport, and so all players must be at the courts at Wherrett Park by 8am.

Please make sure when you are substituting for another team that you sign on in the correct section on the score sheet. A separate section is allocated under the original team section.

All players should be aware that if they don't sign on it will be deemed that they have not taken the court.

Please keep in mind that Grafton Netball takes pride in being a sport for all the family, and behaviour according to this is appreciated and expected towards all competitors, officials and spectators.

The competition ladder is available on the website.
