Reunion rides famous Clarence
THE mighty Clarence will be swarming with the cream of the watersport crop this weekend as world champion wakeboarders and skiers hit the water for the Tige boat owners' reunion.
Run by ProWake, the reunion is in its seventh year and organiser Mick Watkins said it was sure to be a ripper of a weekend.
"The Tige reunion is all about getting Tige owners together, similar to a car rally but on the water," Mr Watkins said.
"We take them out with our professional team of barefooters and wakeboarders and help them with their boats and teach them anything they need to know."
Held five times a year in various places around the country, Mr Watkins said Grafton continued to be a favourite among riders and families.
"It's got some of the best water for skiing and wakeboarding in the country," he said.
"It's deep, it's flat, and it's wide; totally unique to Australia.
"Plus the Big River Holiday Park is immaculate and so welcoming."
Boat owners from South Australia and Victoria are preparing to make the journey to the Clarence Valley to join owners from Queensland and New South Wales, plus the ProWake team of riders including world champions, for a weekend of fun on the water.
Anyone wanting to check out some of the best boats in the world is encouraged to head down to Big River Holiday Park at Seelands on Sunday.
"Track one of us down and we might be able to take you for a ride," Mr Watkins said.
