Riders get back on the berms at BMX
BMX: Clarence Valley BMX Club has started back in a big way at the BMX track in South Grafton.
While most of the riders have had a couple of months off their bikes over the festive season, a few BMX families have been travelling up to the South East Queensland BMX Shootout series.
The first two rounds were held at Beenleigh and Toowoomba and our riders have been winning or placing in the top of their classes for most of the races. There are four more rounds in the series to go over the next couple of months.
The Clarence Valley BMX track is in great condition due to the hard work by the club volunteers before and after the school holidays repairing and applying a soil stabiliser to stop erosion.
Many travelling families passing through Grafton have called in to the local track for some quick laps over the holidays as its reputation of being enjoyable spreads far and wide.
In an effort to introduce more people to the sport the club is holding a free Come and Try BMX Day on February 18 with two coaching and training sessions during the day starting from 10am.
BMX is for all ages and this will be a great opportunity for riders to gain bike skills and have a go on a state level track under the guidance of qualified coaches and club members.
