RIO 2016: More bronzed Aussies

DIVING: Australia has won another medal in the pool, this time in synchronized diving.

Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith finished third behind Chinese gold medallists Shi Tingmao and Wu Minxia and Italian duo Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape, who took silver.

The Aussie girls started poorly and were in last place after round two, following a score of 42.00, the lowest of the competition.

But they fought back well and saved their best dive until the last round, a forward two and a half somersault one twist pike, to take their best score of 71.10 to sneak past Canada for a medal by less than a point.
