Traffic delays during road upgrade near bridge
NIGHT drivers are advised of roadworks scheduled for either end of the Grafton bridge from May 20-29.
Works to overlay the existing road surface with asphalt between Villiers and Through Sts will take place across five nights from 7pm-5am and are part of the Roads and Maritime Services maintenance program.
An RMS spokesman said the works would take place at different locations within that section and all work would stop over the weekend to allow minimal disruption.
"There will be some noise associated with this work, however every effort will be made to minimise the disruption to local residents and businesses," the spokesman said.
During the works, traffic will be reduced to one lane and motorists are asked to allow extra travel time and adhere to all signage.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience," the RMS spokesman said.
He reminded motorists to proceed with care through the area while roadworks were taking place.
If you would like to discuss the works, phone Scott Brady on 6640 1300.
Night works
Roadworks will take place on Summerland Way north of Grafton Bridge to Villiers St from May 20-22 and south of the bridge to Through St from May 27-28.
