Mat Rogers to visit the Clarence

FORMER dual international rugby league and rugby union star Mat Rogers will be visiting the Clarence Valley this weekend to celebrate the one year anniversary of Anytime Fitness Grafton opening.

The gym will be putting on celebrations aligned with the official opening of the BP service centre and Red Rooster store in South Grafton.

Gym owner and former Wallaby Gene Fairbanks said the gym was very excited to welcome a superstar footballer like Rogers to the Valley.

"It is our first birthday and it is quite exciting to reach that milestone," he said. "Matty Rogers is close mate of mine, so I have organised for him to come down for the celebrations. He is famous for his footy and he does a lot of triathlons nowadays, so it would be good for him to meet some locals and maybe we can get him in to do a bit of training. We'll just see where the day goes."

The gym will be offering free sign ups throughout the day as an incentive for new visitors and potential clients. There will also be raffles taking place to reward current members of the gym.

Rogers will be at the celebrations from 10am and is planned to be signing autographs from midday until about 2pm.
