Roller Derby to hit the road

ROLL up, roll up on Friday night, get your tickets for our bus trip and see one of the best bouts of the year.

On April 30 SSRG will be taking on VRDL and our league will be travelling up by bus to check out all the hard-hitting action.

The $20 tickets must be purchased by Friday night to confirm seats on the bus.

This is a great opportunity so don’t miss out.

Star skaters of the week were: Jen for Blue Stripes, who demonstrated the ability to block effectively without the need to be aggressive; Maxx for Blue Stripes, who is consistently committed to her training and gives each exercise all she has; Anne for Green Stripes, who worked through an injury to rise above the pain and nail her training session; and Kristy for Fresh Meat, who is an inspiration to us all.

A reminder to all skaters that there will be no skating on Good Friday.

The Clarence Valley Roller Derby League is always looking for new recruits, or “fresh meat”, as they are known in the world of derby.

If you are interested in giving it a try contact Jade on 0432 489 974 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            0432 489 974      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or 6645 5568 to organise skate hire and get some details about what is involved.

The cost is $15 for training and all equipment hire.

All new starters are asked to be at training at the Raymond Laurie Sports Centre by 6pm this Friday.

Roller derby training is a great way to have fun, get fit and meet other like-minded women in your area.
