ROMANCE writer Jennifer St George, of Byron Bay, has been announced as a finalist in the Australian Romance Readers Awards.

Ms St George's book, The Love Deception, has been nominated in the Favourite Short Category Romance section.

"I feel like a winner already to be in a finals list with some of Australia's best romance writing talent," she said.

Her fourth book, The Billionaire's Pursuit of Love, has hit e-book shelves this week.

Ms St George said it featured a "wildlife warrior heroine battling wills with one of the world's richest men".

"It's already received some good reviews, which I'm thrilled about," she said.

It took Ms St George three years of solid writing before landing her first publishing contract with Penguin.

She's keen to share her skills, and has developed a romance-writing course to teach others the tricks of the trade.

"Developing your writing craft and knowing the ins and outs of the industry can save you years stumbling around in the writing abyss."

Ms St George's course, Introduction to Writing Romance & Getting Published will be offered through the Byron Community College.

The course will run over six weeks starting February 20.
