RTA urges care on highway

CLARENCE Valley residents heading away for the Christmas holidays are being urged to plan ahead, take extra care while driving and ensure vehicles are in safe condition before travelling on the Pacific Highway.

An RTA spokesperson said highway traffic would increase by 50 percent so motorists were urged to take care, plan their trips and take a break every two hours.

Construction sites along the highway will be closed over the holiday period but motorists are advised to watch out for changed traffic conditions and speed limits.
