Sandon streets named

Sandon streets are one step closer to having official names.

AFTER 12 months of trying, the streets of the village of Sandon are a step closer to having universally recognised names.

On Tuesday, Clarence Valley Council voted to approve the names of Jetty Rd and Pebbly Cres for the two streets.

The names will be subject to the approval of the Geographic Names Board.

The council will also write to each of the village's 36 households and advertise the preferred names for 28 days.

From a poll done by The Daily Examiner earlier this month, it seems you too are keen on the new names, with Jetty Rd and Pebbly Cres scoring 44% of the vote.

What do you think the streets in Sandon should be called?

This poll ended on 17 February 2015.
