Scam warning

Clarence Valley residents are being warned to be alert for telephone and internet scams currently operating.

The scams request credit card information, bank account details, drivers licence numbers and dates of birth.

The scammer's claim the details are needed to recover mortgage overcharges or to confirm billing details on allegedly suspended Telstra Bigpond internet accounts.

Be aware that no company will ask for proof of identity by bank or credit account, drivers licence or similar
over the phone or internet - especially since they should already have these on record if they are genuine.
