SCARLETT Mill may only be seven months old, but she is a bundle of inspiration for Carly Mill.

Three years ago, Ms Mill started her jewellery making business, using porcelain beads and creative flair.

Gorgeous Jewellery By Carly began when she and her now-husband Jake were travelling around Australia.

"Jake's aunty hand-makes porcelain beads and so I started making my own jewellery from them and it grew from there," Ms Mill said.

She would display her works in galleries and sell them at markets around the country.

When they came back to Grafton and young Scarlett was born, her business took on a whole new level.

"I started doing baby headbands and baby-proof necklaces plus baby bracelets and dream catchers," Ms Mill said.

It was when she posted a photo on Facebook of Scarlett rocking a new headband that Ms Mill realised just how much interest there was for these kinds of products.

"I got so many comments on it and it made me realise people will spend more money on their kids than themselves," she said.

"Mums want necklaces that aren't going to break when a child pulls on it."

And so the Little Miss Scarlett Collection was born.

Ms Mill said while her days were flat out with mummy duties, she usually found an hour or so each day she could devote to making her products.

"If Scarlett goes down for a sleep I can usually do it for a bit, or she sits in her chair on the table and watches me," Ms Mill said.

"She's my little apprentice."
