CORAL Roper was a part of the successful Maclean Public School choir which was  awarded the Best Musical Expression Overall specialty award at the Lower Clarence Music Eisteddfod this week.

President of the eisteddfod Doug Towner said the schools day was a fantastic experience for all involved with many schools performing well.

"We try to encourage schools from across the Valley to be involved so it was great to see South Grafton Public joining the mix," he said.

The eisteddfod has been met with high praise from attendees which Mr Towner chalks up to his dedicated support staff.

"We have over 40 volunteers who come and help out throughout the eisteddfod and they are fantastic," he said.

"They really keep the ship steady."
