School puts on monster show

STRANGE things happen when you mix a cocktail of the Rocky Horror Show, Young Frankenstein, the Addams Family, Rebecca and Phantom of the Opera.

That's what happened when the Clarence Valley Anglican School put on a performance of the musical The Rocky Monster Show, which premiered at the Criterion Theatre on Friday night.

The storyline told of an ex-pop star turned professor of genetics (and a direct descendant of Baron Frankenstein!) who created DNA moulds of people in his computer… including Elvis.

With growing unrest and suspicion from the local villagers, the story culminated in a literally explosive ending.
