FOUR local high schools will contest The Daily Examiner Touch Trophy at Yamba Touch Fields this afternoon.

The time-honoured event will be played across four divisions: junior and senior boys and girls.

Maclean High School are tipped to figure strongly again, returning to defend three of the four titles.

South Grafton High prevented a Maclean clean sweep in 2012, claiming the junior girls' trophy.

Action starts at 4pm, with each team guaranteed at least three matches to determine the best touch school in the Clarence Valley.

The Daily Examiner-sponsored event has been hosted by Yamba Touch Association for the past 15 years.

While Grafton High has opted out of this year's tournament, organisers welcome participants from Pacific Valley Christian School for the first time.
