School's out: Buses may not run

ALL Catholic Schools in the Clarence Valley will be closed today because of predictions of severe weather.

Maclean High and Maclean Public School will also be closed today.

Grafton, Copmanhurst and South Grafton public schools have confirmed they will operate as normal, but said children should only attend school if safe to do so.

Letters sent home to parents said it was fine to keep students at home if there was any danger of roads being closed during the day.

Check with your individual school if you are unsure.

It was also noted that buses may be affected and not run as normal.

The Bureau of Meteorology advised yesterday that there is more than a 70% chance that the Clarence Valley will flood with a 20% chance of major flooding.

The BOM also advised that the Clarence Valley will experience heavy rains today with forecasts expecting heavy falls exceeding 290mm.
