Scout leader charged over alleged child sex assault

A SCOUT leader has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of 10-year-old boy at a cubs camp near Sydney.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad launched an investigation when the alleged victim made a report earlier this year.

The boy told police that while on a cubs camp at Cataract last June, a scout leader assaulted him.

A 54-year-old man from Mosman was arrested at the Chatswood Police Station late Wednesday and charged with the indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age.

He was released on strict bail conditions and will front court on September 4.
