Search for three men after girl sexually assaulted

POLICE are searching for three young men after a teenager was sexually assaulted in Lismore on Saturday night.

Police said the 19-year-old woman was walking along Magellan Street about 11.30pm, when she noticed three young men following her.

Near the intersection with Cathcart Street Police said the woman was grabbed and sexually assaulted by one of them.

After the men left, the woman called police straight away, Richmond Local Area command media said.

Police are now appealing for public assistance to identify three people they believe can assist with their investigation.

The first man is described as being in his late teens, of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170 to 175cm tall, with a slightly obese build, medium-length dark brown/black wavy hair, brown or hazel eyes, and acne scars on his chin and cheeks.

The second man is also described as being in his late teens and of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance with short, dark hair.

He was described as being slightly shorter than the first male, having a round face and a big nose.

At the time both were wearing dark, hooded jumpers and baggy dark coloured shorts.

The third man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, tall, with a "lanky" build, short, curly blond hair, and at the time was wearing a light-coloured hooded jumper and dark skinny jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Lismore Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page
