SES rescue mailman

GRAFTON City SES dragged a mail contractor to safety when his car ended up teetering on the edge of a steep ravine in the Coombadjha area, about 90km west of Grafton, on Friday afternoon about 3.30pm.

An SES spokesman said it was not clear how the car ended up with both driver-side wheels on the ‘balancing point’ of the road edge, but he said, the driver did not move from his seat out of fear it may push the car over the edge.

Rescue crews used chains and a snap strap to secure the vehicle and drag it to safety before the mail man drove away unharmed.
