Young dad killed in tragic accident 'dedicated to community'

A GOFUNDME crowdfunding campaign has been set up for a local family who faced tragedy earlier this year.

The page, which was set up with the aim to help support the family financially through this difficult time, has raised $1550 since being created two days ago.

The page reads: "In mid-July 2016 Alison lost her partner Shane, and their four children lost a loving father, in a tragic machinery accident near Casino, NSW.

"For many years, Shane and Alison have been selflessly involved in their local community supporting schools, sporting clubs and community events to assist others.

"In addition Shane also regularly helped out people in need, offering assistance to fix broken down equipment, helping clear debris after storms or even just helping them move heavy items, he did this putting others before himself and without complaint setting an exemplary example to us all.

"His supporting of others left less time for Shane and Alison to progress their own home and dreams.

"Shane was only 34 years old, and he loved his family dearly.

"His passing leaves Alison and their four beautiful children to carry on but the road ahead for them will be very difficult without an income and their loving husband and dad.

"At this time many have offered help and the community's response to this tragedy has left Alison and the kids feeling very grateful and humbled.

"Donating will ensure this help carries on in the longer term; every little bit is greatly appreciated by Alison and the children beyond measure.

"In donating to help Alison and the children you will be helping to support them during this difficult time and providing continued support to the kids hopefully giving them the same opportunities they would have in the longer term if this tragic event had not occured."
