Show to set tails wagging

YOU'LL be barking mad if you miss the Clarence Dog Sports Inc 61st Annual Dog Show.

From May 11-15, more than 1000 pampered pooches and their owners will take to the exhibition ring daily, each with a mere 30 seconds to put on their best doggy behaviour and impress the judges.

Breeder Jerry Faber describes the upcoming event as a terrific opportunity for the public to see their favourite breeds in action.

“There are going to be some fabulous dogs exhibited and some are coming from as far as Victoria and SA,” he said.

“The dogs will be classified into separate groups where they compete against their own breed, age and sex.

"The winners then compete for best challenge dog and best bitch, with those two winners then competing for Best of Breed.”

The dog show will be held in conjunction with the Bonville Kennel Club and commences at the Maclean Show on May 11. From May 12-15 it will be held at the Grafton Greyhound Track.

Competition starts 8:30am daily.

Admission is free.
