Crash at Lanitza

3.00PM: POLICE have called for witnesses to a single vehicle accident near Lanitza today.

It is believed the white van was headed south on Orara Way when it veered off the road and collided with a gum tree around noon.

A passerby alerted emergency services to the accident, who arrived on scene soon after.

SES rescue crews worked to remove the back seat to free the driver, a Grafton resident believed to be about 50 years old.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was initially tasked to attend the accident, but the man was driven to Coffs Harbour Health Campus by ambulance instead.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Police are investigating the incident and have asked any potential witnesses to phone the Grafton Police Station on 6642 0222.

12.30PM: The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has been tasked to a motor vehicle accident near Lanitza on the Orara Way.

Early reports say there could be one person trapped in a vehicle and it appears to be a single vehicle accident, but this yet to be confirmed.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter will likely land on the corner of Parker Rd and Orara Way.
