GREG Ryan is afraid of heights, but when his family organised a skydive for his 80th birthday, he jumped at the chance.

Greg and his adventurous daughter Leonie Ebbs have a thrill-seeker's pact and this is the third part of their trilogy.

They have dived to the depths of the sea, scaled the Sydney Harbour Bridge and now they plan to parachute onto Susan Island.

And Greg has promised to make Sunday's skydive with the Coffs City Skydivers a spectacle for his home town with an SES water rescue as the climax of the day.

Greg's not planning on being the subject of the rescue, but the SES are using the jump as a chance to practise its water rescues.
