Slightly Greasy gears up in Chevy
IF THE Slightly Greasy cast needed any help getting into a 1950s mindset, a blue and white Chevy sedan was the thing to do it.
Last Thursday Grafton man Andrew Law donated his Chevy for the day and took cast members for a ride around the block.
Keenan Stillman, who plays Danny Zucco, said he was impressed with the Chevy's power.
"It's awesome," he said.
"I'm having a great time in the play.
"I love the movie Grease, I can't live without it."
Kate Kratz, who plays Sandy, said she also loved the movie.
"We have been rehearsing for three months and I'm really looking forward to opening night," she said.
"I've got Grease on CD and DVD at home."
The show is a play within a play and tells the story of Sandy and Danny 20 years on with a daughter of their own.
The elder Sandy and Danny are egged on by their teenage daughter to tell the story of how they met.
The rest of the cast perform the memories of the main cast as they look back in time.
Slightly Greasy will be performed by the Big River Amateur Theatre Sensations (BRATS) at the Pelican Playhouse on June 12, 13 and 19.
Tickets are still available for June 19.
