Snapper snapped with a champion

DAILY Examiner casual photographer Lynne Mowbray did not need her long lens to get a shot of Kim Clijsters when she went up to Brisbane to catch a couple of days of the tennis action at the Brisbane International Tennis Tournament.

Lynne and her partner Allan Gough had tickets for the quarter final and semi-final days, but missed catching Clijsters, the eventual women’s champion, in action.

“We caught Andy Roddick in action,” she said.

Before returning to Grafton the couple went out to dinner at the Eagle Street Pier Restaurant.

“I saw a mother and child playing around and heard them speaking in a foreign language,” Lynne said.

“We were watching them and I thought it looked so cute. They were playing dancing and clapping hands.

“Then I looked at the mum and I went ‘wow’ when I realised it was Kim.

“I had the camera with me so I wasn’t going to miss the chance.”
