Son took 4 hours to call for help for axe murdered family
SPECULATION is mounting that there may be a sinister circumstance behind a South African family's axe-murder.
Revelations have surfaced that the surviving son took almost four hours to call emergency services.
Three members of the van Breda family, who had ties to the Sunshine Coast real estate industry, were murdered in their home last month.
Marli, 16, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Her mother Teresa, father Martin and brother Rudi were all killed.
Surviving brother Henri called emergency services to report the attack.
However, it has come to light that he took almost four hours to alert the authorities, while medical examinations have indicated bruising and scratches on his arm may have been self-inflicted.
The axe used was reportedly brand new.
Investigations into the place of purchase and the pruchaser are vital keys.
Marli is being closely guarded by police.
Her revelations upon recovery will determine which way the police investigation heads.
