South Grafton Rebels prove too strong for Grafton Ghosts

Steve Walker was instrumental in the early stages of the game ensuring the Rebels kept their momentum and continued to push over the advantage line.

As soon as field position was won by the big boys up front, Rebels playmakers Ant Cowan and Mal Webster kicked into gear with strong backline movements.

Ghosts were able to capitalise whilst having the extra man scoring in the corner through centre Cam Winters.

Rebels hit back quickly despite being down a player and regained the dominant lead they held before the Ghosts clicked into gear with five minutes to go before half-time.

A spectacular effort from Joel Moss on the stroke of half-time to gather in a cross field chip from Matt Muller saw the Ghosts into the sheds with momentum and trailing by six.

Coming back from the sheds, both teams looked to muscle up in defence, hoping to slug the match out on the field.

The second half was a tight contest with both teams refusing to give an inch to their opposition.

Discipline was a major issue for the South Grafton side with the side giving away almost 15 penalties compared with only three given away by the Ghosts side.

Both sides scored a try a piece in the second half in what was a good 40 minutes of defensive football.

In the tightly contested match-up, South Grafton Rebels were too strong for their Grafton counterparts.
